Mothers Day

Mother’s day is celebrated every year on the second Sunday of May. Oliver Wendell Holmes says “The real religion of the world comes from women much more than from men - from mothers most of all, who carry the key of our souls in their bosoms”. The day was set as an official holiday in 1914 after more than a century of women meeting locally to promote the idea. Our mothers do s0 many things for us. According to some unknown sources mother is the one who understands what his child does not say. There is a Jewish proverb stating “God could not be everywhere and therefore he made mothers”.

5 de mayo

5 de mayo is a day that the Mexican people celebrate because it’s part of the Mexican history. It is when a group of Mexicans from the state of Puebla defeated the French. 5 de mayo has been around for hundreds of years.

Tournament for Breast Cancer

The tournament we are playing about this weekend is because we are supporting anybody who has breast cancer and I think that this is a good thing because we are helping people who have cancer. And all the people who go to watch the tournament have to pay $5 dollars to get in and I hope you can comment on this blog.

SB1070

Well, about the SB1070 I think is a waste of time and will have damage in this country in the future. Maybe not right now, but I do have a feeling that it will soon. Like for now the immigration people are the ones who are really trying to work hard not just for earning money, but helping other family members or just start a new life here. I was born here in Owensboro, KY in 1993, but most of my family isn’t from here. Well, those who are older than me like I have 12 people. Who wasn’t born here that is part of my family. I’m also glad that I have most of my family is here with me because I have some that lives with me here, others who lives in Mexico and Honduras. Like I know I’m from here, but I’m also Mexican and Honduras in me. So where I go or grow as I will always know and remember that I’m mixed in not just one culture. I sometimes ask my self, “If I would be the same if I was only one race or would I be different.” Every day, well most of the time I watch the new, but ask my self has the people really change or stay the same.
In the first section in the SB1070 part B said,

I think to my self how you can tell the difference from people who were born here from those people who won’t. Like I know around the world people are born, but not just one place. The sentence beside the number 22 says, “State where reasonable suspicions exists that the person is an Alien.” Well, I thought the scientist said that we are humans another words we are people, but how come most people are treated different from others just because they are different. Well, news flash every one is different no one is the same.

Immigrations Law

On Friday the bill on illegal immigration was passed. It is considered as the toughest bill of the nation that is signed by the governor Jan brewer of Arizona. The main aim of SB1070 is to identify, execute and deport them. The bill was criticized by president Obama. According to the opponents “it is an open invitation for harassment and discrimination against Hispanics regardless of their citizenship status”. I don’t like this because this is not the fair way of treating everyone who is either legal or illegal. The law is kind a racial profiling that is a form of racism consisting of the policy of policemen who stop and search vehicles driven by persons belonging to particular racial groups. Somebody rightly said “it is very easy to support racial profiling when you are not of the race that’s profiled”. According to the anonymous source “there are 22, 737, 535 illegal’s in the country, 578,399 other than Mexicans and that’s only 4% of illegal’s that are not Mexicans”. The things that are needed to prove your citizenship are-

• A Arizona Drivers license
• A copy of your DD-214
• A passport
• A certified birth certificate

As per the 14 amendment to the U.S. Constitution “No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws”. So where does the law goes now?

My opinion about S.B.1070

Well I have lots of opinions and questions about the bill S.B1070. My first question is for the Americans, what makes you to consider yourself as an American or according to you what’s an American?? My opinion is that the United States of America is no really the land of “white people”. If we go back to the times of Christopher Columbus, North America which the U.S is in North America was owned by the Native Americans, and they weren’t “white”. Now in the United States there are lots of races, so whoever is born in the United States and its skin color is what we call “white” don’t say that the United States is yours. Now the second question is, what would the United States do if there were no immigrants to work in the factories, and the fields?? My opinion to this is that if there were no immigrants in the United States there would be fewer factories and fewer fields, why? Because the majority of the people that work in the fields and factories are immigrants. Why just immigrants? Because immigrants don’t have the documentation required for certain jobs such as being a lawyer, and those types of good pay jobs. Another of my opinions is, why doesn’t the United States runs a check on the immigrants records and if they have any crime record or something close to that they should get deported back to their country and if their record is clean then they should get a visa for a certain amount of time so that they can still support their family, and so they won’t have to become criminals, for example some Mexicans that got deported in the past 5 or 6 years didn’t get enough pay in México and that’s why there is too much drug trafficking and killings.

SB 1070

Sb1070 is a law that they pass in Arizona were the police can stop anybody that they think that don’t have legal papers. And I don’t agree with this because a lot of people work on immigrant people work on field. And I have an article on the website in the bottom where Jan brewer’s says, “On SB 1070, Arizona Governor Says She Will Do The ‘Right Thing So That Everyone Is Treated Fairly” and I don’t agree with this because how is she doing the right thing so that everyone is treated fairly when she just passed a law that can report immigrant and that is not fair. Fair is when everyone is treated the same way as everyone else and some people might not agree with me but that my definition for being treated fairly. Some people might have different definitions for it but it’s just the way people think. If the governor of Arizona wants people to treated be fairly she should take the law of sb1070 out because that would be fair for everyone, maybe not for some of the people of Arizona but for other people that would be fair. And also I know some people who were illegal in the 1990s and now that they have papers they think that they can be treated as an American, but it is wrong because he might be an American resident but he was born in Mexico and I think he should be with us marching for the immigration reform. And also I think that we shouldn’t be scared because if we get scared then it would be most likely to happen. And I think that president Barak Obama should do something about this before it goes to all the states because I know he wants everyone to be treated fairly.

Earth Day

Saving the Earth!

Well, the first thing one or more people can save the earth which we live in is pick up the trash around the sides of the roads or other places. Another ways people can help out is like plant more trees and plants instead of cutting them cut down. Therefore if we stop cutting down trees we can actually save the animals instead of hurting them. Like if we didn’t have any animals then how we could eat besides eating plants, but I know there are a lot of people who don’t eat plants at all. Well, my reasons how people can save the environment by pick up the trash, turn off the light, and last but not least is use less resource.

My first reason will be picking up the trash because people see trash and most just walk away from. But then again some people do pick up the trash and I’m thankful for what some people do. Like for me I would pick up the trash which I do sometimes. Starting now I’m going to pick the trash every where I go and see some trash on the flood. But I know some people are going to ask can that help out the earth by the earth which we live in can be clean and we can live a better life. Like I know out there in there world there are some people who don’t really eat food from plates like some people here. NO! They eat from trash or what ever they can catch with their hands.

My second is turn off the light. Like people see the light turn on, but when they see no body in inside and just walk by the room. For example not all the time I would turn off the light I just felt some else should it for me, but now I see that I also can make a little change in my life. It won’t hurt me if I change a little bit. I know now that most people turn off the light not just it can help out our earth, but they will feel proud about their selves. I know I would after I do something good I know it will help out other people that don’t even have lights to see in the dark like us.

My last reason is use less resource because what if we use all of the resources that we got then what would we use. How would we survive? Easy the people that came before us live a good life. Even though they didn’t know as much as we do now, but still didn’t have to worry too much about use just this resource to do something. NO! They other sources that could be use the same things to the same way too.

I hope you think about how you could save our earth before it’s too late. Like I already know what I’m going to save this earth before I die and that will be try to turn off light, pick up trash, and also use less resources as I can.

How Recycling Can Save the Environment

How recycling can save the environment? Recycling can save the environment in many ways, the first way it can save the environment is by not killing too many trees. The second way is by not destroying animal’s shelters (deer, turkeys, etc.). The third way that recycling can save the environment is by not cutting down our oxygen.

We can save the environment by recycling paper. If we recycle paper we don’t have to cut down trees, and that can help us because we don’t cut our oxygen short. If we don’t recycle and we just cut trees we are obviously going to cut down on our oxygen to and that would increase pollution as well. And if pollution increases we can be in risk of having bad weather such as tornados, hurricanes, etc.

Not destroying animal’s shelters is the second reason. If we do not recycle plastic, paper, etc. All of that trash is going to go to the landfills and it doesn’t disintegrate, and the landfill is going to keep getting bigger. And if the landfill gets bigger then we’re going to have to cut down more trees or just the ones in the way.

The third way is by not cutting down on our oxygen. If we cut down trees, we also cut down on our oxygen, and we have more pollution. If we cut down on our oxygen the result can be death. Over all we want to recycle because we don’t want to die just because of lazy people who won’t recycle.

0ver all, recycling is good because it stops global warming, and things won’t be used up so fast. So I recommend every school in the United States to recycle everything from paper to cardboard. And don’t just throw everything to the dumpster, just because you’re lazy.

How Being Vegetarian Can Save the Environment

The surrounding where we live is what we call as environment and it is being exploited. So it’s the time when we need to wake up and help in saving it. There are various ways in which we can help in saving our beautiful environment from being destroyed. One of them is being a vegetarian. Its sounds silly but if we carefully look at the small things that are saved by a person who is a vegetarian then it’s make a major difference to our environment. To make things possible we need to start from somewhere and little things we do today are going to make a big difference tomorrow.
We do not own animals (and even if we do then they have their own life) so they can’t be used for food, clothing, entertainment, experimentation, or any other reason. They too have their own life, feelings of love, happiness, fear just as we all human beings do. How are we going to feel if somebody is going to do the same things with us? We, humans, should not go through all these slaughters and stuff like that because we can speak and can express our pain and emotions.
Vegetarian diet reduces the destruction of tropical rainforests, wildlife habitat, and help to save endangered species. It is sad that rainforest are being cut to make room to raise more and more cattle. One of the reasons how being a vegetarian helps the environment is that you do not have to eat hamburgers for which as a matter of fact “every second, one football field of rainforest is destroyed in order to produce 257 hamburgers”.
For producing a single pound of meat, nearly 2500 gallons of water is needed. US use half of the water in animal agriculture. 250,000 pounds of waste is produced per second by the livestock which is 20 times as much as humans. “It takes ten times as much land to produce food for an average American compared to a pure vegetarian”. As a whole if everyone is going to be vegetarian (well, that’s not possible) then certainly it’s going to help our environment in many ways.

How Schools Can Save the Environment

I think that schools can save the environment by turning off light and go and walk or run outside or teach outside. This is going to save the environment because all the classes are going to be outside and every single light even little lights are going to be turn off. I don’t know how schools are going to take this but if we turn all the light we can make a big different like how little things make huge things well this is one of them because by turning off the light we are saving energy and also saving the environment. I think the students would like it but I don’t really know about teachers but some teachers might consider it good or bad, my ELL (English Language Learner) class is going outside to plant a tree and I think this is a great idea. Do you know how many trees are torn down because they need to build houses or do other things in it? Well I don’t really know but I think I have a good idea about it and that’s why my class is planting trees outside the school because trees are good like for shades. Another idea that how we can save the environment is by scan papers before you print because some teachers just print and then when we turn the papers in they just check it and then they just throw the paper in the trash and we can recycle the paper . Recycling papers are good because they can be used over and over again and they can also be used for a lot of things and that is good because it helps us save the environment and let us have more oxygen. Another reason is the school can volunteer to pick up trash around Owensboro so we can have less pollution and have better oxy gen so when people see they can say my kid went with the school and pick up trash to have a better environment, and these are great ideas on how the school and the teachers can save the environment.

Earth Day

April, 22 is considered as the earth day. It is designed in order to create awareness for the earth’s environment. This day was founded by U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson as an environmental educational forum in 1970. It is celebrated in many countries every year in spring in the northern hemisphere and in autumn in southern hemisphere. It was first celebrated in 1970. Earth day is like the birthday for the earth. There are so many things that we can do to save our beautiful earth. We should follow the rule of three R’s that is recycle, reuse and reduce.

Spring Break

For spring break my family and I went to Chicago to visit my aunt and my uncle. Our plans were to visit them, and to get to know the whole downtown. But our plans didn’t go like we expected, because one of my uncles had cancer and he was very sick, and my dad wanted to go and visit him before his death. But unfortunately when we got to his house he was very sick and we had to take him to the hospital. So a whole day went by, and we were still in the hospital. I really didn’t care much for getting to know the downtown, what I really cared about was my uncle. After three days we came back to Owensboro. My cousins and I went bowling, to the movies, and to the mall in Evansville, Indiana. Monday, April 12, 2010 my mom called my aunt and my aunt told my mom the bad news, my uncle had passed away…

Spring Break and Soccer

In spring break I didn’t had that much of a good one because I had to baby sit my sister but I don’t really care because I’m playing soccer with my friends. I like soccer and my mom said if I babysit my sister I could get my new cleats they are real nice and they are also violet. We have are second game today and I hope we win because if we win we have a chance of winning the united cup when it begins and it will begin in two or three weeks and I can’t wait until school is over so I can go to my game and I will keep you people with the scores of the game every blog report I write.

Women Rights in Iran

According to the constitution of Iran, the government has some responsibility for women like creating a suitable environment for their personality and to restore her material and moral rights. To protect mothers and to create competent courts for preserving the existence and survival of family. Creating special insurance for widows, elderly women and women without guardians is also one of the responsibility of the government and granting guard ship of children to worthy mothers.

Spring Break

Well I hope I’m going some where this spring break or at least do something because I know I’m grounded from things I did. But we not were talking about that right now. We are talking about what can I do with out getting in more trouble or fights.

Spring Break

For spring break my family and I, are going to Chicago to visit my uncle and my aunt. Last time that my family and I went to Chicago was like three years ago, and I really want to go this year so I can ride the speed boats around Lake Michigan. The part that I like about going to Chicago is when we cruise.

This movie is about soccer and how girls in Iran couldn’t watch the game because only men were aloud. And I think this is so bad because anybody should be allowed to watch soccer and not wear anything because girls had to wear something around the head. The president should change and put a law about women right because if mans are allowed to watch soccer the women should be allowed to, I didn’t really like the m0ovie at the beginning but I did like the end were the girls in the bus thro firecracker inside the bus and it is a really good thing that the girls escape from the bus. Also have a great spring break and have lots of fun.

Immigration Reform

Over 200,000 people went to Washington D.C for an immigration reform march. Most of the immigrants want to be legal in the United States because they need work to help their family survive, because in their countries they don’t get the same or close pay to what they do here in the U.S. Most of the immigrants don’t have good jobs like the Americans but even though most of the immigrants work in the fields, they still make money to survive. Some immigrants come to the U.S with a good objective, and some of them don’t have a good objective. Some immigrants come here to the U.S and can’t find a job, so they go to the easy jobs like selling drugs. I have a lot of uncles who did that when they first got here to the United states, and now some of them are in jail, and some of them were deported.

Like After I Finish School and College

Like after I finish school and college. I will go for Air force maybe I don’t know yet because I haven’t chosen between Air force and marines. Since I was young I wanted to be flying in the air. I also promise my little sister I get my own airplane and let her fly with me. I just hope I can get in the force, but I don’t then its ok I guess. I mean I would still try and work hard just to get in.

Counterstrike

This game is called counter strike, counter strike is a game that most students in high school play but not all the time they play the game when they have free time, this game is a really good game because when we get bored in classes and we have free time we play this game. I also have the game and I played but I played when I have free time. And only boys have it well some girls are trying to get the game because they want to play it. In this game you can talk to people and also you have to save some hostages, in here there is two teams the first team is called terrorist and they have to prevent the other team which is called counter-terrorist and they have to save the hostages from the terrorist because if you save them you get extra money and you can also buy new weapons and there is a lot of weapons to buy and every round you win you get money and also you can fight against your friend or in your friend side, and that is very much what I have to tell you about counter strike.

Weekend Report

This weekend I had a good weekend and now that it is week again I don’t like it because I sometimes get bored school because we don’t do that much except listen to the teacher talk and also I’m really happy because soccer is about to start and I have my first soccer practice today and most of the soccer players can’t wait because we are going to be back as a team and also because we haven’t play since 5 months and now it is time to have fun again and I’ll keep you people up of what I do this weekend or next week and I hope you replied to my blog again.

Holi

On 28 February, I and my family members celebrated our Indian festival ‘Holi’. It is also known as festival of colors. It is a very old festival and basically celebrates the victory of good over bad. On this day people hug each other and wish ‘Happy Holi’. Celebration of Holi begins with the bonfire. There are many stories and legends associated with this festival. People rub different colors on each other’s face. Everyone is so happy. This time I really missed my friends and my relatives. My friends called me and told me about how they enjoyed. I wish I was in India then I would have also enjoyed.

World Cup - ZA

The world cup happens every four year and this is the first time that is going to be held in South Africa. The world cup is an event where the entire continent participate in and most of this time it is always held in other places except South Africa because some people thought that South Africa couldn’t handle the world cup. This time it is going to be in South Africa and they are going to proof that they can handle the world cup.

The first time that South Africa is going to have the world cup. They don’t have anything like hotels, restaurant for the people to stay or eat. But they are constructing the things and also they are constructing new stadiums for the games to be held. This time Africa is going to show that they can handle the world cup and down there I have some links for these and also the continent’s where the world cup has been held before.

KY Test 10th Graders Go To College

The program is being organized by the National Center on Education and the Economy, and its goals include insuring that students have mastered a set of basic requirements and reducing the numbers of high school graduates who need remedial courses when they enroll in college. More than a million college freshmen across America must take remedial courses each year, and many drop out before getting a degree.

High school students will begin the new coursework in the fall of 2011 in Connecticut, Kentucky, Maine, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont. The educations commissioners of those states have pledged to sign up 10 to 20 schools each for the pilot project, and have begun to reach out to district superintendents.

Marc S. Tucker, president of the center, a Washington-based nonprofit said, “That’s a central problem we’re trying to address, the enormous failure rate of these kids when they go to the open admission colleges and We’ve looked at schools all over the world, and if you walk into a high school in the countries that use these board exams, you’ll see kids working hard, whether they want to be a carpenter or a brain surgeon.”

I think about the program can help out for the people who are ready and then again if some people can effect the way they think. By I know most people do study as hard as they can, but even if they study there is still a chance to fail the test. Then, if that happens then the person who took the test can think to him/her self as they can’t accomplish anything. So some people do others things instead of try to reach the goal again. And for the people who do pass the test can help in the real world.

Storm in Michoacán, Mexico

In Michoacán it has been raining for over a week without stopping. There have been over 20 dead people and the death rate keeps going up. The Mexican president Felipe Calderon has sent Mexican troops to help the people.

2010 Winter Olympics

The 2010 Winter Olympics is the international sports event. It is the 21st winter Olympic. It started on 12 February, 2010 in Vancouver in Canada and is going to end on 28th of February. The Olympics are organized by the Vancouver Organizing Committee (VANOC). It’s the third time that Canada is hosting Olympic. There are 82 National Olympics committee who have entered their teams with a number of 2,629 athletes. The United States has won the maximum number of Olympic medals till now in the 2010 winter Olympics. It has won 5 gold medals, 3 silver medals and 6 bronze medals making a total of 14 medals.

What happened when me and my dad was in the wrong place at the wrong time!

It started out being a good day, dad and I was finished working on our farm that day. My dad, in a tired voice told me “maneja tu” (you drive). We were on our way home when two big army trucks passed us sounding the honk trying to tell me to get out of their way. I was only going 65 miles per hour. Five minutes didn’t even pass when I saw a long line of cars, like about 50 cars. In front of us there were two white trucks, I kind of noticed that it was the L.F.M. (La Familia Michoacána/ Mafia). I was wondering what happened, in a firm voice I asked my dad “ que chingados paso” ( what the heck hapenend) when I saw the two big army trucks that passed me. I realized that the soldiers were searching every truck that drove by. But now it was the two white truck’s turn, the soldier made the stopping signal, when the two white trucks just dashed by the soldier making him prepare his rifle. While was trying to stop the truck to let one of the army trucks to go and try to stop the white trucks I heard four gun shots “BAM, BAM, BAM, BAM”. I got kind of scared and my dad said with a scared voice “ dale chingadoz, no me quiero morir tan pronto” ( Go, I don’t want to die at this time). While I made the U turn there was already another army truck behind us………..

All I Ever Wanted

When, I first time I see you I was little and didn’t what was going around my life. As soon as I came to notices that there was a problem in my life, but couldn’t figure it out. Every since you left me alone and my family, I thought that it was bad. Now as I look back into the past and I think to myself, “Man! I was so weak to think about that and not think what I do have in my like I have good friends and a perfect family.” I know your going to say, “But no one is perfect.” Yes I know that, but I won’t trade my family for nothing on this earth. I know family usually have fight and agree about things, but that’s normal in a life because sometimes when family fights are good to make sure you don’t mess up your life or someone you love. Like I can talk about one person who chanced my life forever, but I’m not going to say his name. I know I thought it was bad for us, but now since I notice more things I know it was for the better. So it doesn’t matter to me what if he comes back to my life because I’m finish and tried of him coming back and then leaving me alone again.

Believe

Well, today I want to write about believe in yourself. I’m writing this because I lost the truths with in me. Over this weekend something came back at me from no where, I started to cry right there where I was, and other thing I just don’t want to talk about it. So the message I want to you to get is simple don’t ever let someone to tell you what you don’t want to do and that you can’t do it. Just remember there are people whop care for you and try to not let nothing happen to you.

Art is very important to me in many different ways. When I get mad or when I am stressed I draw to get rid of my stress. Art is important to me in another way and that way is that I would like to become and architect or an automobile designer. Some people think that art is just dumb but it is not dumb when it has its own reasons or meanings. Ill rather draw then do work sometimes!

3 IDIOTS

Life is all about listening to your heart and chasing your dreams, that’s the essence of the movie I recently watched titled ‘3 idiots’. It’s a bollywood movie. The movie is about three young college buddies who get to realize their selves at the end of the movie. They have their own idiot theory that is ‘I Do It On My Terms’. The movie shows not only hardships of college life but also try to teach us a lesson that every time studying in college is not all about getting degree but sometimes it’s more than that. It could just for learning and getting new ideas. The movie is good and I really liked it.

Trip to Mexico 12/18/09-01/04/10

It all started one Friday morning, everyone in my family was excited that we were going to Mexico. The trip started out good till when we had two hours on the road... that’s when a deer crossed the road and the truck that was in front of us braked really fast, going out of control getting in front of our way making us run into him.

anyways in the accident no one got hurt even the deer left with out a little scratch!














While me and my family where enjoying our vacations in mexico we had a picnic day.




















I enjoyed that day because me and my cuzins swimmed, and rode our four wheelers in the river. I enjoyed the other days too because I met new people(girls).

Christmas Break

In Christmas break I hang out with some of my friend and my family we all had a great time and I was happy because I was out of school didn’t had to do anything like homework. And I got some clothes and a new of shoes and some other basics things and on new year we went to party and I went to bed at 6 in the morning and then on Sunday I went to play soccer and I had a great time with family.

School Lunch

Today through this essay I am going to tell my logics that why I do not eat lunch at my school. There are several times when I am asked that why I do not eat at my school lunch in school. For not eating, I have many reasons like I am not hungry, I do not want to eat with the people I do not know or the reason could be that I do not get what I want.

First of all the reasons, the main is that I do not want to sit and eat with the people whom I do not know or even I do not like. It’s difficult for me to do all these. So I do not eat at my school.

Next, I am not hungry at the time of our lunch. It’s probably because I usually do not used to eat at that time. So I think it’s better not to eat than to break my routine.

Finally, the reason why I do not eat at school is that I do not get what I want or do not like what we are given at the school lunch. Mostly, it is the fast food, which is not liked by me.

In the end, I would say that it does not matter that why I do not eat but what matters is that I do not want or like to eat at my school lunch. It’s my wish whether I want to eat or not.

Christmas Break

Well, how was your Christmas Break? My Christmas Break was good I had a lot of fun throughout the time. We had a party at the garage, my room, and the house. Almost every where you went in around my house we had different music like; rap, rock, punk rock, screamo, and Spanish music as well. I had rock, screamo, and some raps songs. At the garage they had Spanish music. They had different songs like rock, but in Spanish. I love the party because my big brother came back from college and invited some friends to have fun and one of my old friends that I haven’t talk in a long so I didn’t feel comfort that my brother knew that I don’t like the girl.

My Break

My break was boring as usual. I didn’t do anything new but the best thing happened was that I got my driver’s permit. I was really happy not exactly of my permit but because I won the bet that I had with my brother. I watched some movies, play games and had good time with my family.
