Child Labor

Child labor refers to the employment of children at regular and sustained labor. It is thought bad in very country. But it is still practiced in almost everywhere. Children are compelled to work at hotels, factories and sometime they are even asked to work in chemical factories. They get hurt many a times. Their mental and physical abilities are harmed. It not only hampers the child development but also children are deprived of education. It should not be there because everyone has the right to have education.

The children who are working are deprived of getting education. They are not able to study anymore which is not good at all. Without education one is blank. Without education person is illiterate and illiterates cannot survive in this 21 century. When everyone in this world has the right to read, write, and play, according to the UNICEF. Then why these children are not allowed to do so. This is also because of the parents who in greed of money send them to do work. In my views, parents doing so should be punished, as we have our own life.

The children who are forced to do this hampers their development, their abilities and at last, but not the least they ruin their future. They lack behind in the long run of their life. Now, I would like to conclude my words that child labor must be stopped at every cost. If any nation wants to improve its future then it must be banned because children are the future of every nation.

  1. Ritu,
I have seen child labor and the way it affects children and their futures. I was visiting my family in Bolivia when I was six years old. There were boys and girls my age working in the market selling things for their parents. I asked my father,"Papa, why aren't those children in school. My cousins are in school during the day." He told me that tose childen are poor and they have to work to provide for their family. They cannot go to school. I was very sad thinking about them and my dad told me that they would never learn to read or write and they would grow up and either work in the mines, which is very dangerous, or sell things in the street. I don't believe children should have to work either. All children should have access to free, public education so that they can do what they want to when they grow up.

  2. I agree with you. Child labor is a curse on our beautiful earth. The way to stop it is the awareness of people and make them understand that the life of these innocent children should not be ruined.
